🚀 About Social Element & Marketfully Group 🌟
Founded 23 years ago, we’re a leading global full-service social media agency on a mission to Make Social Better for everyone.
As we enter our next exciting chapter, Social Element has become part of the MarketFully Group; a dynamic collective of digital marketing companies blending cutting-edge technology and AI with human creativity and strategic insight to build standout brands online.
With our recent acquisition, 2025 marked a period of positive transformation. As we integrate into this larger group, our finance team is at the forefront of change, driving progress and shaping our future direction. We’re proud of our collaborative, flexible, and supportive “can do” culture.
Now, we’re looking for an exceptional Senior Management Accountant to join us, on a part-time basis, and play a key role in this pivotal journey.
👊 The Opportunity:
As a Senior Management Accountant, you’ll deliver accurate financial information to inform strategic decisions across both businesses, playing a vital role as we enter this new phase. We’re seeking an exceptional accountant who can step in, take real ownership, and make an immediate positive impact while working closely with our Finance Director. You’ll hit the ground running, ensuring a smooth month-end close, supporting the business through change, and directly shaping the future of our agency.
As a Senior Management Accountant you will:
Prepare, review, and deliver monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), ensuring timely completion and ownership of the management accounts function.
Drive month-end efficiency: Hands-on responsibility for the month-end close, reporting, and variance analysis; continually work to bring forward close dates by streamlining processes.
Analyse financial performance: Provide insightful variance analysis against budgets and forecasts; monitor expenditure, investigate discrepancies, and report on key findings.
Lead budgeting and forecasting: Oversee the annual budgeting process, support departmental budget holders, and develop rolling forecasts and financial projections.
Maintain strong financial controls and compliance: Ensure robust financial controls and adherence to UK GAAP, accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory deadlines.
Mentor and support other finance team members: Review and support work of junior colleagues (mainly AP, AR, and revenue), providing training, guidance, and feedback to ensure accuracy and development.
Assist with year-end accounts: Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors as required.
Deliver process improvements: Proactively identify and implement opportunities for automation and improved efficiency, especially as the business continues to integrate post-acquisition.
Support wider business needs: Provide ad hoc financial analysis, scenario planning, and actionable insights to the Finance Director and other internal stakeholders.
👇 What we are looking for:
Proven Finance Professional: Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or finalist, with strong, recent UK management accounting experience.
Self-starter: You thrive on autonomy, quickly grasp new systems and business models, and can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
Strong communicator: You’re comfortable collaborating with colleagues at all levels across regions, able to explain finance to non-finance, and happy to coach others.
Excel whizz: Confident manipulating data and building reports/analysis.
Process-orientated: You spot inefficiencies and love to make things better.
Team player: Approachable, supportive, and thrive working closely with others while leading by example.
Sense of urgency: Able to deliver results and juggle multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
Agency, media or professional services experience is helpful, but we’re open to the industry for the right skillset.
Paprika or comparable finance systems experience an advantage, not essential.
Adaptable: This is a business (and finance team) going through change - agility, problem-solving and a positive attitude are essential.
